Despre carte:

A masterfully painted epic, a truly unique and devastating literary royalty, spanning two-thirds of the 20th century and three continents

It all began with the love story of Tatiana and Alexander in war-torn Leningrad. Now their destiny is fulfilled in the land of all possibilities – or so it seems…

Tatiana and Alexander have lived through all the terrible experiences of the 20th century. After years of separation, they have managed to intertwine their destinies again in America, the land of their dreams. They have Anthony, the crowning glory of their love, a love that has proved stronger than the plague that has fallen on all mankind. But they feel like strangers. In a world dominated by fear and mistrust, under the threatening clouds of the Cold War, evil forces are putting their fate in jeopardy. Will they be able to carve out a new life and find happiness in this new Land of Enchantment? Or will the ghosts of the past shatter their hopes, blackening even the destiny of their firstborn?

It’s hard to ignore the love story embedded in a truly grand narrative. Margaret Mitchell’s novel Gone with the Wind remains the prototype of this literary genre, where Tolstoy’s War and Peace garners literary praise… It is quickly apparent that Russian-born author Paullina Simons has mastered this genre of romantic saga… She can make powerful demonstrations of the strength of the human spirit, but never at the expense of descriptive passages full of brilliance, strength and beauty. – Barry Forshaw, Amazon, on The Aramaic Horseman

Paullina Simons was born in St. Petersburg and emigrated to the United States with her family at the age of ten. She graduated in Political Science from the University of Kansas and worked as a financial journalist and translator. In addition to her well-known trilogy, The Aramaic Horseman, many of Pauline’s novels have gained international popularity, reaching bestseller lists in many countries. Today, Paullina and her husband live in Long Island, New York, and have four children, one of whom is named after the heroine of The Aramaic Horseman, Tatiana.
